The great state of Illinois enacted the , Illinois Consumer Coverage Act (CCA). This affects all employers who have employees in the state of Illinois.
The Illinois Consumer Coverage Act took effect on August 27th, 2021 and requires disclosures to your employees about health insurance coverages you provide as a business.
The CCA does not impose coverage requirements on employers; it only imposes disclosure requirements. The benefits that you as an employer are required to cover may depend on whether your plan is self-funded or fully insured, and whether you are a small employer or a large employer.

The Consumer Coverage Disclosure Act requires any employer who provides group health insurance coverage to employees in Illinois to provide employees a list of essential health insurance benefits as well as a comparison of which of those benefits are covered by the insurance plan that you provide. Employers must provide this information to all employees upon hire, annually, and upon request
